The Wenger Patriot is, for me, the classic road warrior bag. It's lots of geek appeal, with its lots of pockets that permit the anal retentive organizer separate & categorize its content. It is large to be my primary carry-on for day journeys up to five or two days, & small to squeak by as a ""personal item or brief case"" on most flights other than those on excruciatingly small commuter planes. The frequent traveler will see this bag being rolled around by more other frequent travelers than any other bag - & there is lovely reason. It is more bag for the cost than any other. There's been lots of minor version changes over the years as the company has made minor changes. I am on my second after about 7 years. The elderly is still usable, but the wheels got embarrassingly noisy as the bearings wore out from miles of duress. My new has slightly less room in the back compartment due to thicker, presumably more long lasting or cheaper-to-make tubes on the pop-up handle - the elderly one's handle was much thinner but never gave up on me despite the fact I put that bag through hell. swiss gear luggage is indeed the ""swiss army knife of travel bags."" Unless you need much more expensive ""status luggage"" to satisfy an executive ego, you cannot go wrong with it. My elderly has been my most reliable travel companion for years, outliving two laptops, five projectors, two cell rings, & so on.
